you are a phantom to me.

there are so many moments when im just going about my day when i feel you with me. its like that pull between us has only become stronger with distance, like there is this chemistry in the air between us that brings us together without physically being beside each other. there are so many times when i can feel the sensation of you kissing my cheek, kissing my forehead, kissing my neck. i get butterflies, enjoy the moment, let it pass, and then swing back into my day. i miss those nights when i got to hold you close, but being able to remember what that felt like is all that matters to me. 

i still feel you everywhere. you are in everything i do. i have come to terms with the fact that this will always be the case. i have settled with the fact that i will always love you, and when my grandkids ask about love, i know what story i will tell them first. 

i will never have you back. but i will never, ever forget you. ever.
